SFLUltimate returns with our winter beach league, welcoming you to come out and play frisbee!  One of the best parts of Florida is enjoying a cool breeze under the warm sun while playing on the beach! 

Description

We'll have games on the following days:

  • Jan 10th
  • Jan 24th
  • Jan 31st
  • Finals will be Feb 7th

Our goal is to have a 4-team league in which each team plays 2 games a week.  There will be no team colors/jerseys, just lights vs. darks. 

On February 7th we would conclude with a finals tournament that would be a bracket format taking into consideration each team’s record.

We plan to host it at the beach directly in front of Park & Ocean, with games each morning at 10am.

Cost:

  • $40 - Regular
  • $20 - Student
  • $10 - For Substutions

$10 discount if you sign up before January 1st.

Regular registration is open as of Thursday, Jan 1 and ends on Thursday, Jan 8

We use this information to draft teams that have even gender distributions.

We use your e-mail to send you updates and league information through the email you provide here.

Not required, but often our captains find reaching out via SMS/GroupMe/WhatsApp is much better than email. Your number would be shared with your team.

Our insurance policy requires us to report how many people within certain age-ranges exist in the league. We do not ask for your birthdate to protect your privacy.

New ranking system: We've changed our way of evaluating skill level to be more holistic. This helps captains pick balanced teams, especially for players new to the community.

This is to help captains draft, especially in cases where we captains might not know you. Check all that apply. You must pick one.

Type the name of the person you would like to partner with. The captains during the draft will make every effort to accommodate this request, but we can't guarantee this.

Type here any additional comments you may have (if you can't attend certain weeks, really don't want to play with a specific person, or want to give captains some idea of who you are go ahead). The captains and organizers will use this information during the player draft.

If your captain and your team wins the league, you'll have your name and team's name be featured on our league trophy. Captains get to pick their teams in the draft and are responsible for communicating to their teams on a weekly basis as well as ensuring that games maintain fair, spirited, competitive, and fun play.

FYI: Captains get a $10 discount on their league entry!

Also be sure to come to our DRAFT PARTY location/time TBD, come get hype about the league and watch the captains select teams. Get to know your new teammates and see friendly faces too!

Want to give back to the community? Help a new player get to play frisbee? You can sponsor a player for their league or clinic fees by selecting here. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes toward sponsored player fees. You can directly sponsor a player of your choosing, or trust that it will go to a qualified applicant as selected by the SFU Board.

Get Sponsored

Want to play ultimate but just can’t afford the fees right now? We want to help you get sponsored to play league. If you are interested in seeking sponsorship, please fill out this application by the applicable deadline. It will be reviewed by a portion of the SFU Board and you’ll be notified if you are a recipient. Sponsorships are not guaranteed, and all applications will be reviewed before each league.Partial and full sponsorships may be available. The recipient of any level sponsorship is expected to have reliable transportation and be able to attend at least 75% of the sponsored league.

If you plan on paying with card (so no PayPal) type here just your street address (So 12345 Palm Tree Ave.). Do not pass city/zip code or apt number. We do not store this information, but send it to the payment processor for fraud prevention.

South Florida Ultimate Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Some of your league fees and donations go toward helping us advance our mission of growing ultimate frisbee in South Florida.

Our current programming includes sponsored adult beginner pickup, adult/youth clinics, and donating discs to new players. We also have some exciting new events on the horizon, stay tuned for more announcements!
