Announcing South Florida Ultimate Fall League 2025!

We are playing a 8-week competitive league on Wednesday nights from 8:00-10:00pm at Amelia Earhart Park from October 15 - December 10th. No games the week of Thanksgiving. The fields are currently closed for rest and maintenance and will be re-opened at the beginning of September. The fields should be in good condition for league! We are playing on fields 5 and 6 on the south side of the parking lot.

Also… we will be playing on FULLY LINED FIELDS! Yes, painted lines for an ultimate field.

FORMAT

This year, we are running two separate divisions: mixed and mens. You can only play in ONE of the divisions. They will be happening side by side at the same field site.

Mixed division: This division is part of a focused effort to offer more inclusiveness for our female matching players. This division is GUARANTEED 4 men: 3 women gender ratio. The number of teams will be based on female participation. Minimum 7 women per team, up to 10. 9-12 men per team.

6-week regular season and 2 week double elimination playoff.

REGISTRATION

The cost is $80 per player ($10/week). This goes towards your fall league jersey, fields, lights, field lines, and an epic end of the season party during divisional finals with FREE food, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages for players.

New ranking system: We've changed our way of evaluating skill level to be more holistic. This helps captains pick balanced teams, especially for players new to the community.

On a scale from 1 to 5, how would you rate your current overall athleticism?

Experience Level

On a scale from 1 to 5, how would you rate your overall experience playing ultimate?

Throws Level

On a scale from 1 to 5, how would you rate your throwing ability, and decision-making?

Preferred Player Positions

This is to help captains draft, especially in cases where we captains might not know you. Check all that apply. You must pick one.

Handler: I'm confident/patient with my throws and know how to move the disc around the field in the wind or against the zone.

Cutter: I love getting open constantly on offense, whether it is in the short game or cutting deep for a big throw.

Hybrid: I feel comfortable handling the disc or cutting on offense, and can play on either depending on what the team needs.

Defense: I love playing hard on defense and really enjoy covering great cutters/handlers.

Note: Please pick at least one of the above.

Expected Attendance

Knowing how often you plan on being there helps captains pick well-rounded teams. If you have specific dates you will be out, be sure to place that in the comments.

Finals attendance

I expect to be able to attend finals.

Shirt Size

You’ll be able to rep SFU anytime you take the field with your custom jersey. It will be your team color for this season.

Partner Name

Type the name of the person you would like to partner with. The captains during the draft will make every effort to accommodate this request, but we can't guarantee this.

Comments

Type here any additional comments you may have (if you can't attend certain weeks, really don't want to play with a specific person, or want to give captains some idea of who you are go ahead). The captains and organizers will use this information during the player draft.

Would you like to be a captain or co-captain?

If your captain and your team wins the league, you'll have your name and team's name be featured on our league trophy. Captains get to pick their teams in the draft and are responsible for communicating to their teams on a weekly basis as well as ensuring that games maintain fair, spirited, competitive, and fun play.

FYI: Captains get a $15 discount on their league entry!

Also be sure to come to our DRAFT PARTY on October 8th, location/time TBD, come get hype about the league and watch the captains select teams for both divisions, hosted by league commissioners Franco Benito and Emiliano Castillo. Get to know your new teammates and see friendly faces too!

Want to play ultimate but just can’t afford the fees right now? We want to help you get sponsored to play league. If you are interested in seeking sponsorship, please fill out this application by the applicable deadline. It will be reviewed by a portion of the SFU Board and you’ll be notified if you are a recipient. Sponsorships are not guaranteed, and all applications will be reviewed before each league.Partial and full sponsorships may be available. The recipient of any level sponsorship is expected to have reliable transportation and be able to attend at least 75% of the sponsored league.

South Florida Ultimate Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Some of your league fees and donations go toward helping us advance our mission of growing ultimate frisbee in South Florida.

Our current programming includes sponsored adult beginner pickup, adult/youth clinics, and donating discs to new players. We also have some exciting new events on the horizon, stay tuned for more announcements!
